| How To Cook: |

1. In large saucepan saute chopped onion in ½ cup olive oil until soft.

2. Add whole white onions, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, remaining olive oil, salt, sugar, and water to cover.
|
3. Bring mixture to a boil and add prepared artichokes and chopped dill.
|
4. Cook slowly for 30 to 45 minutes. (If frozen artichokes are used, reduce cooking time to 20 minutes.)
|
5. Let cool in sauce and serve cold.

VARIATION:
|
|
1 pound cleaned fresh fava beans can be added. Combine with artichokes and cook slowly for 30 minutes.
