Kourabiedes are the favorite cookie of the Greeks-a rich, short cookie covered with powdered sugar. They are made for all festive occasions.

		1 pound whipped sweet butter, at room temperature
		¾ cup confectioners' sugar
		2 teaspoons vanilla extract
		2 tablespoons brandy
		4½ cups all-purpose flour confectioners' sugar for dusting

									| How To Cook: |

	1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

	2. Whip butter until white. Slowly add confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract, and brandy. Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time.

	3. Shape into small crescents and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 20 minutes, or until cookies are sand-colored.

	4. Sift confectioners' sugar onto a large sheet of wax paper. Upon removing cookies from oven, carefully place on sugar and sift additional sugar over tops and sides. Cool thoroughly on racks before storing.

	    Add one cup finely chopped blanched almonds to the soft dough and proceed as above.
