Basil Beef
This is close to a hot beef salad. The Thais have the most amazing ability to put together herbs and spices in blends that no one else seems to have thought of.

What You Need:
  • 4 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
  • 3 jalapeno peppers, seeded and sliced
  • 1 pound beef flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain
  • 4 tablespoons Thai fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
  • ½ cup coarsely chopped fresh basil leaves

  • How To Cook:
    1. Heat a wok and add the oil and garlic.

    2. Chow or stir for just a moment and then add the peppers and meat.

    3. Chow again for just a couple of minutes so that the meat sears to medium rare, just a bit pink inside.

    4. Quickly add the remaining ingredients and toss for a moment.

    To Serve: 4
