Conch Fritters
What You Need:
  • 2 medium conch, cleaned and skin removed
  • ½ small sweet pepper
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk or ½ cup evaporated milk and ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1¼ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt

    COCKTAIL SAUCE
  • ½ cup catsup or bottled cocktail sauce
  • ½ teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce

    How To Cook:
    1. Put conch, sweet pepper, onion and celery through a meat grinder.

    2. Add remaining ingredients to make a batter.

    3. Drop by tablespoon into hot fat and fry for approximately 10 minutes, or until golden brown.

    4. Serve with cocktail sauce.

    COCKTAIL SAUCE:
    1. Mix and serve.
