What You Need:
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pound brown sugar
  • 14 oz flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • teaspoon allspice
  • cup shredded citron
  • cup chopped walnuts or almonds

  • How To Cook:
    1. Beat eggs and sugar till creamy.

    2. Sift dry ingredients and stir in with the chopped nuts and citron.

    3. Pat the dough to inch thickness on a paper-lined baking sheet.

    4. Bake in a moderate oven (350F) for about 30 minutes.

    5. Cover with a thin icing made of icing sugar and water before cake is cool.

    6. Cut into squares or oblongs.
