Meat And Cheese Balls
(Smyrna Kefta)
What You Need:
  • cups marrow or aubergine
  • 5 large onions
  • 1 cup minced lean meat (raw)
  • 4 tablespoons cheese (grated)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • Deep fat for frying

  • How To Cook:
    1. Boil marrow and onions together in salted water until tender, drain and chop very small.

    2. Mix in all the other ingredients and bind with beaten egg.

    3. Roll into small balls, coat with flour and fry in deep fat.

    4. These are excellent hot or cold and make a good dish with salad or for picnics.

    To Serve: 4 - 6
