Purim Kichlach
What You Need:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup melted fat or salad oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 cups sifted flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup lukewarm water or milk
  • ¾ cup poppy seed

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cream sugar and fat. Add one egg at a time, beating or stirring well after each addition.

    2. Sift dry ingredients and poppy seeds. Make a stiff dough with the two mixtures and a little of the liquid.

    3. Roll out on lightly floured board to ¼ inch thickness and cut into triangles 2½ inches in size.

    4. Arrange on a greased and floured baking sheet, brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with a few poppy seeds.

    5. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 375°F.

    To Make: 50-60 cookies
