What You Need:            (To make 1 cocktail)

  • 1½ ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 3 ounces gin
  • 1 teaspoon superfine sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 to 4 ice cubes
  • 2 ounces cold club soda
  • An 8-ounce wine or cocktail glass, chilled

  • How To Cook:
    1. Combine the lemon juice, gin and sugar in a mixing glass and stir with a bar spoon to dissolve the sugar. Add the whole egg and ice cubes.

    2. Place a shaker on top of the mixing glass and, grasping them firmly togetherwith both hands, shake vigorously 6 or 7 times.

    3. Remove the shaker, place a strainer on top of the mixing glass, and pourinto the chilled wine or cocktail glass.

    4. Rinse the shaker with the cold club soda and pour into the glass.
