1 slice lemon
2 whole cloves
1 teaspoon superfine sugar
A 1-inch piece cinnamon stick
3 ounces Jamaica rum
4 ounces boiling water
An 8-ounce glass, preferably with handle

|
1. Stud the slice of lemon with the 2 cloves.
|
2. Wash a glass with very hot water and shake it dry.
|
3. Place the sugar, piece of cinnamon and slice of lemon in the warm glass, and add the rum.
|
4. Stir with a spoon to dissolve the sugar, leave the spoon in theglass so that the glass will not crack, and fill with boiling water.
|
5. Stir briefly and serve.
|
