  • Cabbage
  • Water
  • Fat

  • How To Cook:
    1. Shred your cabbage with a sharp cook's knife.

    2. Wash and scald it with boiling water.

    3. Strain and cook in an uncovered saucepan with half a cupful of water (which should boil away completely) and 3 oz. fat.

    4. Add salt to taste.

    5. A delicious way of cooking cabbage, but care should be taken that it does not cook too quickly or it may discolor.

    NOTE:
        Russians keep special choppers and little wooden troughs in the kitchen for cabbages.
