| 1. Cut the steak into small pieces and dip them in seasoned flour.

| 2. Chop the onions and green pepper and saute them lightly in a little dripping. 
 
 | 
| 3. Add the meat and fry lightly on all sides. 
 
 | 
| 4. Stir in tomato paste, seasonings and flour and add the stock, cut-up tomatoes and the herbs. 
 
 | 
| 5. Put the mixture in a casserole and cook in a slow oven (325°F), for 1 hour. 
 
 | 
| 6. Add the beer and paprika and cook for another ½ - 1 hour or until the meat is tender. 
 
 | 
| 7. Remove the herbs. 
 
 | 
| 8. Serve with sauerkraut and dumplings flavored with caraway seeds, or with a green salad.
