Cow Peas Soup
(Gungo)
What You Need:
  • 1 pint of peas (soaked overnight)
  • 2 quarts water
  • 1 pound soup meat
  • ˝ pound pig's tall or salted beef
  • 1 sliced coco
  • Flour (tor spinners)
  • 1 chopped onion
  • Thyme, salt, pepper, pepper, scallion

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cut up and soak salted meat in water to remove excess salt.

    2. Boil peas with soup meat and pig's tail in water until tender.

    3. Remove the meat and put peas through a colander, rub out and discord skin.

    4. Place liquid on stove with seasonings and coco.

    5. Add more water if necessary.

    6. When coco is cooked and dissolved, the soup is ready.

    7. Bits of the boiled meat can be added.
