Mutton Saucer Pies
What You Need:
  • 8 oz short crust pastry
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley
  • 8 oz lean cooked mutton
  • ˝ teaspoon chopped thyme
  • 1 small minced onion
  • A little stock or milk
  • 2 chopped mushrooms
  • Seasoning

  • How To Cook:
    1. Make the pastry and use rather more than half of it to line strong saucers or small round tins.

    2. Mince the mutton, removing all fat, and mix with the remaining ingredients.

    3. Fill the pies with the mixture, and cover with another round of pastry, and then bake in a moderately hot oven (450°F) for about 45 minutes.
