Welsh Bread
(Bara Cymreig)
What You Need:
  • 2 pound flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ˝ oz yeast
  • Sufficient milk to mix

  • How To Cook:
    1. Sieve the flour.

    2. Put the yeast and the sugar into a basin, gradually stir in a little warm milk and work till quite smooth.

    3. Stir into the flour and let it "sponge."

    4. When sufficiently risen, knead with a little warm milk, cover and set to rise in a warm place.

    5. Take about ˝ pound at a time, roll to 1 inch in thickness and put on a hot bakestone.

    6. When baked sufficiently on one side, turn over and bake until done.
