What You Need:            (To Serve: 6 - 8)

  • 2 salted herring fillets, about ½ pound, boneless and skinless (Soak in fresh water, which is changed often, for 12 hours.)
  • ¼ cup dill pickles, rinsed and diced
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, diced
  • 1½ cups sour cream
  • 1½ teaspoons prepared horseradish
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

  • How To Cook:
    1. Drain the herring and dice.

    2. Toss all the ingredients together and place in a serving dish.
