What You Need:            (To Serve: 4 - 6)

  • 8 oz short pastry

    FOR THE FILLING
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 oz caster sugar
  • 3 oz self-raising flour
  • Salt
  • 4 oz chopped dates
  • 4 oz chopped walnuts

  • How To Cook:
    1. Line a flan tin with pastry and bake blind until cooked but not brown. Allow to cool.

    2. Beat the eggs and sugar together for 15 minutes, stir in the flour, salt, dates and nuts and pour into the flan case.

    3. Bake in a very slow oven (275°F) until firm to the touch.

    4. Serve cold.
