What You Need:            (To Serve: 2 - 4)

  • 1 pound minced lean mutton or lamb
  • 3 large onions (diced)
  • ½ cup uncooked rice
  • ½ cup grated cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon chopped dill
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup flour
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup lard

  • How To Cook:
    1. Put meat through mixer, with onions.

    2. Boil rice until tender, and then mix it with meat and onions, cheese, parsley, dill, pepper and salt. Knead mixture 5 minutes.

    3. Form into egg-sized ovals and roll in flour.

    4. Beat eggs until frothy and dip meat balls into egg.

    5. Fry on both sides in ¼ cup of lard.
