What You Need:

½ pound each prunes, dried apricots, peaches, pears, seeded raisins
1 cup long grain rice (brown rice may be used)
½ cup honey
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 quart boiling water

How To Cook: |
|
|
1. Rinse dried fruits and drain well.
|
2. Mix with rice and add the other ingredients in the order listed.
|
3. Bring to the boil and then simmer (over an asbestos mat) for 15-20 minutes or until rice is tender and the liquid in the pan absorbed.
|
4. Shake occasionally to prevent sticking, or add a little boiling water if necessary.
|
5. Serve hot or cold.
|
