What You Need:

  • 6 oz short crust pastry
  • ½ pound guavas
  • 3 oz sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pint milk (or tinned evaporated milk)
  • 1 lime

  • How To Cook:
    1. Line a pie plate with pastry and decorate the edge.

    2. Stew the guavas with 1 oz. of the sugar.

    3. Make custard with the eggs, milk and remaining sugar; when cool add juice and grated rind of lime.

    4. Sieve guavas to remove the pips, put the pulp over the pastry and cover with the custard.

    5. Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 40 minutes.
