  • 1 onion
  • 1 leek
  • 2 oz butter or margarine
  • 4 oz cooked beef
  • ½ pint stock flavored with tomato puree
  • Seasoning
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 oz flour
  • 2 bread rolls
  • Fat for frying

  • How To Cook:
    1. Peel and chop the onion, wash the leek and slice it finely, then fry both in the melted fat.

    2. Mince the beef, add it to the vegetables and fry lightly.

    3. Add the stock, seasoning and nutmeg, and simmer gently for 15 minutes.

    4. Blend the flour with a little cold water, add this to the pan and stir well until the mixture thickens and boils.

    5. Cut the rolls lengthways, scoop out the inside and fry the rolls in butter until they are golden-brown; drain well and fill the cavity in each with the beef mixture.

    NOTE:
This is a good way of using up a small quantity of left-over cooked beef.
