What You Need:            (To Serve: 2 - 4)

  • 6 eggs, separated
  • ¼ teaspoon powdered cloves
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs made from black bread (pumpernickel)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Breadcrumbs and butter

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cream egg yolks and sugar until white.

    2. Add breadcrumbs, cinnamon, cloves and the melted butter.

    3. Mix thoroughly and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

    4. Line buttered pan with breadcrumbs and pour in the mixture.

    5. Bake in a moderate oven (375°F) for 25 - 30 minutes.

    6. Serve with whipped cream or whipped sour cream.
