Polish Sausage & Vegetables
Polish sausage and ham are known all over the world. Kielbasa is a spicy and garlicky sausage that should be steamed before eating. If you prick the skin with a fork before cooking, it will not burst.

What You Need:
  • 1½ pounds garlic-flavored ring sausage
  • cups sliced onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 can (10¾ ounces) condensed beef broth
  • 1 cup beer
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes (about 1 pound), cut in half
  • 3 medium carrots (about ½ pound), cut in 2-inch pieces
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

  • How To Cook:
    1. Prick sausage with a fork; set aside.

    2. Cook onions in butter in a large saucepan until tender; stir in broth, beer, vinegar and pepper.

    3. Add sausage, potatoes and carrots; cover and cook over low heat 35 minutes, or until done, stirring occasionally.

    4. Stir flour and water together to make a paste; stir into broth and cook to desired thickness.

    5. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
