Beef Broccoli
What You Need:
  • 1 pound tender beef steak, sliced thinly (1-inch by 1˝-inch by 1/8-inch)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon crushed ginger root
  • 2 tablespoons sherry wine or whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 pounds broccoli, cleaned and sliced
  • ˝ teaspoon salt
  • How To Cook:
    1. Mix the first seven ingredients and allow marinating at least ˝ hour.

    2. Cook in the microwave oven in a covered casserole, stirring occasionally, until the meat is no longer pink. Set aside.

    3. Cook the broccoli in a covered casserole in the microwave oven, stirring from time-to-time, until it is barely tender-crisp. (This should take about 10 minutes.)

    4. Add the salt and meat mix well, and reheat thoroughly.

    NOTE:
As in oriental cooking, the vegetables should not be cooked too much. There should still be quite a bit of crispness, so the residual cooking does not leave the broccoli limp.
