Hominy Grits Souffle
What You Need:
  • 1 cup grits, regular
  • 1 cup milk, heated
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 2 cups (˝ pound) Cheddar cheese, grated (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cook grits according to package directions.

    2. Add hot milk, butter or margarine, egg yolks and cheese.

    3. Cook and stir until custard-like. Cool. (This can be done quite for in advance, if desired.)

    4. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour mixture into buttered casserole and set in pan of hot water.

    5. Bake 1 hour at 325°F. This can be held for another hour with oven on worm.

    To Serve: 6
