Orange Bread
What You Need:
  • 1 cup minced orange peel
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2˝ cups of sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3˝ cups flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • ˝ teaspoon melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

  • How To Cook:
    1. Combine orange peel and juice and boil until peel is tender.

    2. Add 1˝ cups sugar, and boil slowly until thick and syrupy. Cool.

    3. Mix egg, 1 cup sugar, butter and milk. Sift flour with baking powder and salt.

    4. Add mixture and stir. Add orange mixture to dough and blend well.

    5. Pour into 2 loaf tins which have been greased and floured. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.

    6. This is good toasted with cheese spread.
