Cheese Kreplach
What You Need:
FOR THE DOUGH
  • A pinch of salt
  • Flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cold water

    FOR THE CHEESE FILLING
  • 1 pound cottage cheese
  • 2 egg yolks or 1 whole egg
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Sugar and cinnamon to taste

  • How To Cook:
    1. Make stiff dough from the sifted flour and salt, egg and water.

    2. Roll out 1/8inch thick, cut into 2½ inch squares and fill each with the cheese mixture, pinch two points together to form triangle.

    3. Drop turnovers into rapidly boiling water, one at a time,

    4. Cook, covered for 10 minutes. Uncover and simmer for 5 minutes.

    5. Drain. Dot with butter and brown under the grill.

    6. Serve with sugar, cinnamon and sour cream.
