What You Need:
  • 15-20 small marrows
  • 3 cups minced meat
  • Fat for frying
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons pine kernels
  • Tomato juice

  • How To Cook:
    1. Hollow out the marrows slightly.

    2. Fry the meat, seasoned to taste, until half done.

    3. Add pine kernels and continue cooking until the meat is done.

    4. Stuff the marrows with the meat mixture and fry the marrows in the same fat, adding more if necessary, and turning continuously until they are well browned.

    5. Place side by side in a baking dish, pour over tomato juice, seasoned to taste, to cover the bottom of the dish.

    6. Bake in a slow oven (325°F) for 1 hour.

    7. Serve with plain rice in a separate dish.

    TIP:
Potatoes and tomatoes may be stuffed in the same way.
