Fruit Stollen
What You Need:
  • Kuchen dough or sour cream dough
  • ½ cup seeded raisins, cut or chopped
  • ½ cup walnuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup candied fruit, diced fine
  • 1 tablespoon citron, chopped fine
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter

    FOR THE TOPPING
  • 2 tablespoons nuts
  • 1 teaspoon citron
  • 3 tablespoons icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

  • How To Cook:
    1. After the dough has risen, pat or knead it into a rectangle. Combine raisins, nuts, candied fruit and citron.

    2. Spread over dough and sprinkle with sugar. Roll up, twist into a ring and place in a round buttered cake tin.

    3. If you prefer a long stollen, place the roll in a rectangular tin, without twisting. Brush the top with melted butter.

    4. Let rise till double in bulk. Bake at 375°F for 30-40 minutes or till nicely browned.

    5. While the stollen is warm, brush again with melted fat and sprinkle with chopped nuts or decorate with citron, candied fruit or nuts.

    6. Pour a little thin icing over the top.
