| 1. Mix together 2˝ cups or sugar and 3 cups of water and boil to syrup stage; add lemon juice and set aside to cool.

| 2. Beat eggs with sugar until sugar dissolves.

| 3. Add yoghourt, flour sifted with baking powder and the fruit rind to the egg mixture and beat until smooth. 
 
 | 
| 4. Pour into greased baking pan and bake in a moderately hot oven (400°F) for ˝ hour. 
 
 | 
| 5. Remove pastry from oven and cut into desired shapes while still in pan. 
 
 | 
| 6. Immediately pour syrup over hot pastry. Cover pan and set aside until all syrup has been absorbed. 
 
 | 
| 7. Then transfer to dish and chill. Serve with whipped cream.
