Smothered Chops
What You Need:
  • 6 leg chops
  • 1 green pepper, sliced thinly
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 lemon, sliced very thinly with rind
  • 6 sliced tomatoes or 2 cans of tomato puree
  • 2 onions, sliced thinly

  • How To Cook:
    1. Wipe and trim the chops, dust with seasonings and lay them in a baking dish.

    2. Cover with lemon slices, then with onion and green pepper; cover with tomato and season.

    3. Bake (uncovered) in a moderate oven (350°F) for 1˝ hours.

    4. Thicken the gravy.

    5. Garnish with parsley.

    To Serve: 4 - 6
