Fish Casserole With Mustard Sauce
(Visschotel Met Mosterdsaus)
What You Need:
  • 1 pound boiled fish
  • Mashed potatoes
  • 1 oz butter
  • Lemon juice
  • 2 large sliced onions

    FOR THE SAUCE
  • 1 pint fish stock and water mixed, or milk and water
  • 1˝ oz flour
  • 1 oz butter
  • Made mustard

  • How To Cook:
    FIRST MAKE THE SAUCE:
    1. Bring the liquid to the boil, blend the flour with a little water, add to the liquid and stir till it thickens.

    2. Add the fat and mustard to taste.

    FISH:
    1. Divide the fish into neat pieces.

    2. Fry the onions golden-brown.

    3. Put some of the fish at the bottom of a fireproof dish and add alternate layers of potato, onion, fish and sauce, with a squeeze of lemon juice; finish with a layer of potato.

    4. Put in the oven to heat through and brown the top.

    To Serve: 2 - 4
