Cheese - Stuffed Tomatoes - Lower Valais
("Pitz")
What You Need:
  • 2 pound medium-sized tomatoes
  • A small bunch of fresh herbs, chopped
  • ˝ pound grated cheese
  • ˝ cup sour cream
  • 1 - 2 onions, chopped
  • Crumbled short pastry
  • Salt and pepper

  • How To Cook:
    1. Cut the tomatoes in half and remove the seeds and cores.

    2. Mix the cheese, onions, salt, pepper and herbs.

    3. Fill the tomatoes with this mixture and pour sour cream on top.

    4. Line an oblong fireproof dish with the pastry, place the tomatoes in the dish, top with sour cream and bake in a hot oven (450°F) until tender.

    To Serve: 4 - 6
